Karachi Traffic Police Intensifies

Crackdown on Traffic Violations

By: Aziz Khatri

Karachi – In a concerted effort to enhance road safety, the Karachi Traffic Police has announced a robust crackdown on traffic violations, particularly targeting dilapidated, unregistered, and illegally plying vehicles. This initiative, led by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Karachi, is marked by the establishment of extensive checking points throughout the city.

The ongoing operations focus on a wide range of offenders, including heavy and light transport vehicles, motorcyclists, and those using vehicles with illegal modifications. Authorities are taking significant steps against violations such as the use of fancy number plates, colored glasses, substandard or altered cylinders, and rickshaws that exceed the permitted seating capacity.

Additionally, motorcyclists riding without helmets and inter-city buses that fail to adhere to regulations are also being targeted.

As part of these stringent measures, motorcycles will only be returned to citizens who present a valid driving license and wear helmets. Furthermore, heavy and light vehicles deemed dangerous or unsafe, in accordance with road safety standards, will only be released once they pass an examination conducted by the transport department's motor vehicle examiner.

The Karachi Traffic Police emphasizes that these actions are essential to protect lives and reduce the incidence of accidents on the roads. The campaign underscores the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to ensure a safer driving environment for all citizens
