MoU Signed to Strengthen Emergency Response in Korangi Industrial Area

 Karachi: A historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between EML, the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA), and Sindh Emergency Services under the Government of Sindh, marking a significant step toward strengthening emergency response and safety measures in the leather industrial area of Korangi.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to ensuring timely and effective emergency response for factory owners and workers operating in the industrial zone. The initiative aims to enhance preparedness, minimize risks, and safeguard lives within one of Karachi’s key industrial hubs.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials and stakeholders, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner Korangi, the President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, leadership of EML, and the Chairman of PTA (SZ), along with representatives from the government and the business community.

The event’s chief guest, Brigadier Tariq Qadir Lakhir, highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between public institutions and the private sector to effectively respond to emergencies and ensure industrial safety.

Participants termed the MoU a commendable initiative that not only strengthens emergency preparedness but also promotes collaboration between industry stakeholders and government agencies. The partnership is expected to play a vital role in improving safety standards, protecting workers, and fostering a resilient industrial environment in Karachi.
