Lahore Qalandars Visit SSU Headquarters, Praise Security Arrangements

  Karachi: A delegation of Lahore Qalandars players and officials visited the headquarters of the Special Security Unit (SSU), where they lauded the unit’s high professional standards and operational excellence.


During the visit, the delegation was briefed on security protocols, operational procedures, and modern facilities maintained by the SSU. The team members appreciated the unit’s commitment and dedication to ensuring safety, particularly during high-profile sporting events.

DIG Security & Emergency Services Division, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, warmly received the delegation and highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Security Division to maintain law and order and reinforce public confidence in sports activities across the city.

Commandant SSU Aamir Khan Niazi briefed the visiting players and officials on comprehensive security measures being implemented for cricket events in Karachi.

The delegation was led by team owners Atif Rana and Sameen Rana, who expressed satisfaction over the robust arrangements, stating that both players and officials feel safe due to the effective security framework provided by the Security Division.

During the visit, the players were also given an opportunity to observe and participate in practical shooting exercises at the SSU’s indoor firing range, offering them insight into the unit’s training capabilities.

Later, DIG Security Dr. Maqsood Ahmed presented an honorary shield to team captain Shaheen Afridi as a token of appreciation.

The visit underscored the strong coordination between law enforcement agencies and sports organizations, ensuring a secure and conducive environment for sporting activities in the city.
