Karachi: In a pivotal step towards improving the effectiveness of criminal investigations, Dr. Farakh Ali, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Eastern Region, convened a meeting focused on evaluating ongoing investigation matters across various districts. The gathering brought together Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and Investigating Officers (IOs) to discuss the current status of cases under their purview.
During the meeting, Dr. Ali conducted a thorough review of investigations from three distinct districts, highlighting the necessity of meticulous efforts in identifying suspects linked to serious crimes. He underscored the importance of employing advanced forensic techniques to bolster the investigative process. Key methods discussed included geofencing, chemical analysis, forensic science laboratory (FSL) tests, and DNA profiling.
The DIG stressed the urgency of submitting case charge sheets to courts on time, reinforcing the critical role that efficient documentation plays in the judicial process. In a bid to foster accountability and high standards, Dr. Ali evaluated the performance of the attending investigation officers, commending those who exhibited exceptional dedication and diligence in their work. Conversely, he directed that appropriate departmental actions be initiated against those whose performance was found lacking.
The meeting reflects a steadfast commitment to enhancing law enforcement practices and ensuring that justice is served efficiently and effectively across the region.
