Karachi Beautification Task Force Engages Private Sector for II Chundrigar Road Revitalization

Karachi: The Karachi Beautification Task Force has invited the private and corporate sector to collaborate on a comprehensive revitalization plan for II Chundrigar Road, aiming to elevate it to international standards, comparable to global business avenues like Wall Street.

A high-level meeting of the task force was held under the joint chairmanship of Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab and Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi. During the session, a detailed presentation was shared with representatives from private banks, SECP, and other stakeholders outlining the master plan for the complete overhaul of the iconic commercial corridor.

To address longstanding parking issues, the task force proposed the initiation of a shuttle bus service from Baradari Parking to II Chundrigar Road, with support from partner banks. Various institutions, including prominent banks and regulatory bodies, expressed full support and called for the swift implementation of the plan. They also recommended the establishment of regular monitoring committees to ensure sustainable beautification and maintenance.

Experts from NED University provided valuable insights for enhancing the project with technically sound and innovative solutions. Key attendees included DIG Traffic M. Shah, Municipal Commissioner KMC S.M. Afzal Zaidi PAS, DC South Javed Nabi, Director Media KMC Daniyal Siyal, and senior representatives from Standard Chartered, HBL, UBL, SECP, Pakistan Railways, and other organizations.

The initiative marks a significant step towards transforming II Chundrigar Road into a modern, efficient, and visually appealing business hub reflective of Karachi’s economic stature.
