Mozambique's Golden Jubilee Celebrated in Karachi

Karachi: The Honorary Consulate of Mozambique in Karachi recently held a grand reception to mark the 50th anniversary of Mozambique's independence. The event was hosted at the residence of Sheikh Khalid Tawab, who has been the Honorary Consul General of Mozambique in Pakistan since 1988.
The celebration was attended by the Chief Minister of Sindh, H.E. Syed Murad Ali Shah, who served as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Provincial Ministers Saeed Ghani and Nasir Hussain Shah, Secretary of Interior Iqbal Memon, CCPO Karachi Javed Alam Odho, former Senate Chairman Mian Muhammad Soomro, and former Governor & Interior Minister Lt. Gen. (R) Moinuddin Haider. Additionally, Mr. Zaid Kamran Tessori represented the Governor of Sindh at the gathering.

The evening also saw participation from Consul Generals representing Oman, Iran, Turkey, Japan, Indonesia, Qatar, and Sri Lanka. Among the leading business personalities present were Arif Habib, Jehangir Siddique, Bashir Jan Muhammad, Dewan Yousuf, Zubair Tufail, Naseem Allahwala, Zahid Mazhar, Ikram Rajput, and Shehriyar Taj (Secretary TDAP). The event attracted presidents of various commercial banks, members of the diplomatic corps, and media representatives.
A special message from the President of Mozambique was conveyed by Mr. Ibrahim Tawab. The message emphasized Mozambique's vision for peace, harmony, and international cooperation while congratulating Mozambican nationals across the globe. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah recognized and appreciated the message, congratulating both the government and people of Mozambique, while reinforcing Pakistan's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
