Liaquat National Medical College Holds 10th Convocation Ceremony

Karachi:  A momentous event marked the 10th Convocation of Liaquat National Medical College (LNMC) as 103 MBBS graduates were conferred their degrees at a ceremony held at the Auditorium, Convention Centre, Liaquat National Hospital. The ceremony featured the Registrar of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Dr. Mohammad Azam Khan, who administered the Oath to the graduates, while Prof. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon, Vice Chancellor of JSMU, awarded the degrees.


Exceptional academic achievements were recognized during the event, with Dr. Mariam, Dr. Malaika Ali, and Dr. Alina Amin Muhammad taking the top three positions in their class. Additionally, Dr. Manal Arshad Malik was honored with the prestigious Wajid Ali Shah Medal for Best Graduate (Class of 2024) in recognition of her outstanding performance throughout the MBBS program.

In his welcome address, LNMC Principal Prof. Dr. Karimullah Makki congratulated the graduates and their families, celebrating this significant achievement. He highlighted the college's commitment to academic excellence, noting that LNMC has produced over 1,200 medical graduates who are now contributing to healthcare in Pakistan and abroad. Dr. Makki pointed out that LNMC is recognized by various foreign medical regulatory bodies and serves as a Host and Home institution in the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Visiting Students Learning Opportunities (VSLO) program. He reaffirmed LNMC’s status as a leading private medical college in Pakistan and a top choice for aspiring medical students.

Medical Director of Liaquat National Hospital, Prof. Dr. Salman Faridi, addressed the audience, imparting words of wisdom to the newly minted doctors. He encouraged them to look beyond material success and focus on service to others. “The purpose of a fulfilling life is not about what one receives but what one gives to others,” he stated. Prof. Faridi urged the graduates to embrace integrity in their professional lives and to prioritize the needs of their communities.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon commended the graduates and their families for their hard work and sacrifices throughout their educational journey. He praised the LNMC faculty for instilling high standards of education and moral values in the students. He expressed pride in witnessing the growth of LNMC and emphasized the importance of having a passion for serving others for long-term success. Dr. Memon encouraged the graduates to pursue their academic ambitions while remaining grateful to their parents and supporting them through their journeys.

The convocation ceremony was not only a celebration of academic success but also a call to the new generation of doctors to dedicate themselves to the service of humanity and make a positive impact in their communities.
