NED University Showcases Innovative Student Projects at FYDP 2025 Exhibition

KARACHI: The Electrical Engineering Department at NED University of Engineering & Technology recently held its highly anticipated Final Year Design Project (FYDP) Exhibition 2025, an event that celebrated the creative and technical prowess of its graduating students. This exhibition served as a platform for students to present their cutting-edge designs and solutions across various engineering disciplines, marking a significant milestone in their academic and professional journeys.


The event kicked off with a formal inauguration ceremony attended by distinguished figures including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Prof. Dr. Saad Ahmed Qazi, and the department’s Chairperson Prof. Dr. Ataullah Khawaja. The speakers lauded the students' dedication to academic excellence and emphasized NED University’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates through practical research and hands-on design experiences.
More than 50 final-year projects were displayed, showcasing the diversity of student innovation in fields such as power systems, renewable energy, embedded systems, signal processing, industrial automation, and artificial intelligence. The projects received commendation for tackling real-world engineering challenges, with a notable focus on energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and process automation.


A highlight of the afternoon was an invited talk by Engr. Amjad Ahmed, a seasoned engineer with over 30 years of international experience. He shared valuable insights on global engineering practices, large-scale project execution, and industrial plant maintenance, which resonated well with students and faculty in attendance. Following his presentation, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Vaid addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in creating future engineers equipped to meet evolving market needs.

The event also celebrated the achievements of the NED University student team, which secured the second runner-up position at EPIC 2025, an inter-university engineering competition organized by K-Electric. This recognition reflects the university’s growing influence in national competitions and industry events, highlighting the talent and potential of its students.

The FYDP Exhibition 2025 reaffirmed NED University's role as a hub for engineering excellence, encouraging students to aspire to greater heights in their careers.
