By: Aziz Khatri

KARACHI: Womenpreneur Pakistan marked a significant milestone with a celebratory event titled SHE ROSE Anyway: Her Story, held at Florentine Café, DHA Karachi. The event recognized the achievements of the organization's 14-year journey in empowering entrepreneurs across Pakistan, with a special tribute to "mompreneurs" — mothers who are leading their own business venture

The event highlighted the organization's flagship Acceleration Program, Her Story, and featured an impressive lineup of speakers from the corporate world, academia, and entrepreneurship. Ms. Irum Fawad, President of Womenpreneur Pakistan, reflected on the organization’s journey since its inception, sharing insights from her work with the Government of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and reaffirming the organization’s commitment to digital and financial literacy.

Vice President of the Womenpreneur Organization (WPO), Ms. Shireen Khan, opened the ceremony, followed by an impactful session on artificial intelligence by Faraz Hussain Buriro, Director at WE@Tech WPO, who also announced upcoming AI certification classes.

Distinguished speakers and guests included Bakhtawer Jabeen, Irum Fawad, Faraz Hussain Buriro, Margaret Lobo Fialho, Saba Hassan, Ayesha Hameed, Humaira Ahmed, Jahanara Khan, Khairoon Nissa Merchant, Mehnaz Qamar, Mehreen Ilahi, Muhammad Fahim Uddin Zuberi, Nadia Athar, Nida Kashif, Qurat Masroor, Sahar Siddiqui Hussain, Sarah Sheikh, Sanober Ahmer, Sarah Bano, Shahina Hussain, Sonia Nawab, and Sumra Tanvir.

The highlight of the day was the Tribute to Mompreneurs ceremony, recognizing women who have successfully balanced the demands of motherhood with business leadership. These women, often building ventures from home or after transitioning into parenthood, were honored for their resilience, leadership, and contributions to the local economy.

The program included a red-carpet welcome, a panel titled Women of Accomplishment, an award ceremony, and a Digital & Financial Literacy session focused on “The Way Forward.” It concluded with a high-tea networking session.

Womenpreneur Pakistan expressed gratitude to all its supporters and especially thanked Biz Today International, the official media partner, for covering the event.

As Ms. Irum Fawad noted in her closing remarks, "When a woman is empowered, an entire home is empowered. And through that, we empower a nation."
