Karachi, June 12: Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab laid the foundation stone for a Rs 1.4 billion sports complex in Baldia Town, urging federal institutions to play a proactive role in addressing the city's challenges. He criticized the federal budget for neglecting Karachi and called on the Prime Minister to honor commitments made to the city.

Wahab encouraged collaboration among local political leaders, emphasizing, “Let us fight the case of this city together.” The new complex will feature multiple sports facilities, including football, cricket, and tennis courts, and is expected to be completed within six months. Addressing water shortages in the area, Wahab announced plans for a new canal from the Hub Dam, aiming for completion by August 14. He underscored the responsibility of the federal government to support development in Karachi and reiterated the importance of collective efforts for the city’s progress. Wahab concluded, “I’m only trying to make Karachi the great city it once was,” reflecting on past glories and future aspirations.
