Karachi: The Handicraft Association of Pakistan – Sindh Chapter held a vibrant meeting at the Mehran Hotel, showcasing the rich tapestry of Pakistani handicrafts and the opportunities for artisans in the region. The event was honored by the presence of Chairperson Ms. Aisha Farooqui and Vice Chairperson Ms. Asma Amir, who took center stage to distribute membership certificates to new and existing members, reaffirming their commitment to fostering local craftsmanship.
The meeting was further elevated by the special appearances of renowned fashion designer Farnaz Mustafa and acclaimed makeup artist Ms. Alia Tipu, who both inspired attendees with their encouraging words and insights into the art and fashion industries.
Members of the Executive Committee Sindh, including Ms. Nida Nawab, Ms. Asma Wajid, and Coordinator Ms. Asma Tabassum, were also in attendance. Their participation, alongside a large gathering of members such as Ms. Saima Mirza, Ms. Saima Sohail, Ms. Samreen, Ms. Shaista Kausar, Ms. Dinesh Wahaj, Ms. Shazia Farhan, and Ms. Afshan Asif, lent additional grace and prestige to the proceedings.
In an exciting development, the Handicraft Association announced the establishment of its official office in Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi.
This new office will not only serve as the regional headquarters for Karachi but also house a permanent handicraft store, dedicated to showcasing and selling the exquisite creations of artisans from across Sindh.
The event included a heartfelt tribute to the late senior member and former Vice Chairperson, Ms. Yasmin Misbah, in recognition of her significant contributions to the association. Additionally, floral bouquets and congratulations were extended to Ms. Afshan Durrani and Ms. Rabia Asif on the joyous occasion of their recent journeys for Hajj and Umrah, celebrating their spiritual milestones within the community.
The gathering ended on a note of unity and aspiration, with members eager to collaborate and promote the richness of Sindh’s handicrafts on a global scale.
