Karachi: The elections for the Writers Guild Cooperative Housing Society concluded successfully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at a vibrant local hall, drawing a considerable turnout from allottees and esteemed dignitaries.
Notable attendees included Advocate Rana Ali Shaukat (MPA PS-97), M. Ali Makhdoom (Chairman, Scheme 33 Realtors Association), Farhan Ahmed Durrani (PWG Society Promoter and son of Naseem Ahmed Durrani), and Zulqarnain Ahmed (Shadab Ehsani). The gathering also featured Imtiaz-ul-Haq Bukhari (CEO, Bukhari Group of Companies), senior journalist Imtiaz Khan Faran, Chairman of PWGA Hassan Gabol, among others.
Shahabuddin Ghori was elected unopposed as the new President of the Writers Guild Cooperative Housing Society, receiving a warm round of congratulations from attendees. Imtiaz-ul-Haq Bukhari praised the election process for its transparency, extending his congratulations to the society and voicing hopes for expedited development within the community. He underscored the need for the prompt handover of plots to genuine allottees to facilitate the construction of their homes.
Bukhari also commended the unwavering efforts of Honorary Secretary Iftikhar Fareed and Fareed Ahmed Moon, acknowledging their dedication that has significantly contributed to the society's progress. Appreciation was also directed towards Sohrab Goth Town Chairman Lala Abdul Rahim for his committed endeavors.
Chairman Hassan Gabol reiterated his dedication to resolving the society's pressing issues, pledging to uphold member trust while prioritizing development efforts. Veteran journalist Imtiaz Khan Faran described the elections as a hallmark of democracy, exuding confidence that the newly elected cabinet would swiftly tackle the society's challenges.
The newly elected officials comprised Syed Ahmed Raza Zaidi, Zia Imran, Zulqarnain Ahmed (Shadab Ehsani), Umair Abid, M. Zeeshan, Arsalan Hashmi, M. Shoaib, Zeeshan Arain, Naseem Ahmed, Tanveer Ijaz, and Nayyar Ahmed Khan. The elections saw significant voter participation, as numerous constituents exercised their democratic right to vote, marking a successful and engaging electoral process.
