Karachi: Under the guidance of Chairperson Ms. Farah Javed and Honorary Secretary Ahmed Umar Sharif, the Pakistan Writers Guild Sindh held a formal meeting at the Gul Rang Hall of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi. The Honorary Secretary appointed senior guild member Nasir Shamsi to preside over the meeting, which was attended by a large number of members, including Ahmed Umar Sharif, Syed Saboor Ali Naqvi, Abdul Zameer Khan, Prof. Dr. Sajida Parveen, Nadeem Zafar Siddiqui, Rehana Rohi, Prof. Kiran Singh, Zafar Moeen Balle, Ghazala Khalid, Shahida Khurshid, Usman Damohi, Iqbal A. Rahman, Iqbal Latif, Rabia Fareedi, Razia Sultana, Khurshid Alam, Shahnawaz Hussaini, Tabir Aghai, and others.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and praises for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by Qari Waqar Ahmad Attari. The agenda for the meeting included the confirmation of the minutes from the previous meeting, new membership applications for the Pakistan Writers Guild, suggestions and approvals for these applications, and the selection of members for vacant positions on the executive committee and for the treasurer role.
The attendees congratulated the newly elected members of the executive committee and the treasurer, wishing them success in enhancing the effectiveness of the guild's future activities. The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting celebration for the birthday of Shahida Khurshid, a newly elected member of the Pakistan Writers Guild Sindh executive committee.
