Karachi: Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab laid the foundation stone for a modern IT center and park in Shadman Town, District Central. Under the CLICK (Competitive & Livable City of Karachi) initiative, the project is budgeted at PKR 145.794 million and aims for completion within six months.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad and other elected officials. Mayor Wahab emphasized the importance of safeguarding the 5,000-square-yard plot from illegal land encroachment and stressed the need for modern IT training for youth, echoing the vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Pakistan Peoples Party.

The IT center will span 180 square meters across two floors, with the park featuring play areas, swings, and extensive green spaces. The Mayor thanked residents for protecting government land and called for continued vigilance.

He highlighted ongoing development across Karachi’s 246 union councils, including a canal project to bring additional water from the Hub Dam and the K-IV project, which is facing funding challenges. Mayor Wahab announced plans for solar energy initiatives on Shahrah-e-Faisal and other roads.

He reaffirmed a commitment to complete vital projects, including sewerage treatment, by year-end, ensuring a more livable city for Karachi's residents.
