Karachi: In a significant initiative under the 48th Specialized Training Program (STP), trainee officers from the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and participants of the 12th Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) visited the Karachi Police Office.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Admin and other senior officers of the Karachi Police. In an informative session, Additional Inspector General (IG) Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, delivered a comprehensive briefing on the city’s law and order situation, shedding light on the various types of crimes prevalent in the area and the multifaceted strategies employed by the police.
Highlighting Karachi's status as a megacity, Additional IG Odho discussed the unique security challenges faced by the metropolis and provided a comparative analysis of crime complexity in Karachi against other urban centers. He emphasized the steps taken to enhance police capacity through the utilization of technology and the ongoing implementation of critical reforms.
In addition to addressing the current challenges, the Additional IG shared personal insights from his professional journey within the police service, offering valuable lessons to the trainees.
As a token of appreciation, the visiting delegates presented a commemorative shield to Additional IG Karachi at the conclusion of their visit. In reciprocation, the Karachi Police Chief distributed shields and gifts among the participants, marking a successful and enlightening exchange between the police leadership and the upcoming administrative officers.
