Karachi: In a significant achievement, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) Karachi on Saturday returned 104 recovered stolen and snatched vehicles to their rightful owners during a dignified ceremony at the AVLC Sharifabad Complex. The event drew a large crowd, including police officials, affected citizens, and representatives from the media.
During the ceremony, citizens were handed the keys to various models, including the Toyota Revo, Toyota Corolla GLi, Suzuki Mehran, Suzuki Cultus, and Honda City. These vehicles had been recovered after extensive investigations that spanned several provinces of Pakistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan. The recovery efforts were marked by the use of high-tech methods, coordination among agencies, and the AVLC team’s expertise in tracking down criminal gangs. Advanced techniques allowed for the identification of vehicles operating with fake number plates, tampered chassis, and counterfeit documents.
In his speech, SSP Amjad Ahmed Shaikh (Tamgha-e-Shujaat) emphasized that returning stolen assets to their owners remains a top priority for the police. He commended the AVLC team for their success in leveraging modern technology, including location tracing and third-party verifications, to facilitate these recoveries.
Affected citizens expressed immense gratitude towards the police force for their hard work and dedication. They highlighted how detailed investigations and transparent operations were crucial in retrieving their vehicles, calling the effort "highly commendable." According to an AVLC spokesperson, investigations and search operations aimed at locating other missing vehicles and apprehending those responsible for these crimes are still in progress.
This successful operation has not only restored property to its owners but also fostered a renewed sense of safety and trust among the residents of Karachi. Community members hope that such decisive actions against the criminal elements targeting the city's roads will continue with the same level of commitment in the future.
