By: Aziz Khatri Karachi: In a crucial high-level meeting held at the Central Police Office in Karachi, Inspector General of Sindh Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, focused on enhancing law and order as well as security measures ahead of significant upcoming events. The meeting brought together Additional IGs, DIGs from Headquarters, Special Branch, Establishment, alongside AIGs from both Admin and Operations. Additionally, zonal and divisional DIGs, district SSPs, and SPs Investigations participated via video link.
IG Sindh announced that, following directives from the Government of Pakistan and the Sindh Government, preparations are underway to celebrate the "Battle for Truth" with great enthusiasm. Various official and non-official events will be organized throughout this period, with full tributes to the armed forces and the nation for their role in thwarting the adversaries' designs. During the meeting, Memon highlighted the importance of each district organizing official ceremonies for Police Martyrs’ Day, the Battle for Truth, and Independence Day throughout August. He emphasized the need for comprehensive security arrangements, urging all officers to ensure that their respective districts are adequately prepared. The Inspector General directed the Special Branch, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and other agencies to persist with their combing operations and intelligence-based operations (IBOs) to enhance security. He called upon DIGs and SSPs to conduct thorough security audits and to inform police personnel about their duties concerning these significant events. With a strong emphasis on improving law and order, IG Ghulam Nabi Memon reassured that all available resources would be deployed to ensure robust security during this crucial period.
