KMC has kicked off a major crackdown Against Illegal Parking Fee Collectors

By: Aziz Khatri

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has kicked off a major crackdown on people trying to collect illegal parking fees around the city. This effort follows Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab’s announcement of 32 designated free parking spots for residents.

Responding to complaints from locals, the City Warden Department carried out surprise checks at spots like Chase Up, Aladdin Park, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, catching some individuals in the act of charging for parking. Those caught were turned over to the police for further action.

Mayor Wahab made it clear that the city is dedicated to making parking free and accessible for everyone. He instructed the Parking Department to amp up these efforts, stating that taking money for parking illegally is simply not okay.

“The well-being of our citizens comes first,” said Mayor Wahab. “We won’t let anyone take advantage of public spaces for their own benefit.”

KMC is asking the public to report any illegal parking fee activity to their helpline, promising quick action to help restore order and make parking easier for everyone.
