Karachi: A high-level meeting was held at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office, chaired by Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, to review the status of ongoing and upcoming development projects for the current fiscal year.
During the meeting, the Director General of Technical Services, Mr. Tariq Mughal, provided a detailed briefing to the Mayor. He announced that KMC is set to execute 105 development projects valued at Rs. 11 billion in July, marking a significant advancement in the city’s infrastructure improvement efforts.
Mr. Mughal also reported that KMC has successfully secured development funding amounting to Rs. 29 billion from the Sindh Government for the current fiscal year. Out of this, 166 projects have been planned, all of which are committed to completion within the fiscal year. He added that 73 projects were completed in the previous fiscal year, with an additional 45 projects on track for completion this year.
Mayor Wahab stressed the importance of adhering to high construction standards, ensuring transparency, and executing development work in a timely manner. He instructed all relevant officials to maintain strict quality control and to be vigilant, particularly during the monsoon season, to prevent any disruptions and guarantee public safety.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner S. M. Afzal Zaidi (PAS), Financial Advisor Gulzar Abro, Director of Media Daniyal Siyal, and other senior KMC officials.
Mayor Wahab reiterated KMC’s commitment to accelerating the city’s development and delivering tangible results to the residents of Karachi.
