Karachi: An important meeting aimed at addressing the challenges faced by traders was held under the leadership of Haroon Memon, Chief Patron of the All-Pakistan Traders Association. The conference gathered prominent trader leaders from across Sindh, signifying a collective effort to navigate the current business climate.
Among the notable attendees were Amin Memon, General Secretary; Sharjeel Goplani, Chief Patron of the All-City Traders Alliance Association; Munhaj Gulfam, Chairman of Kameeda; Rashid Khan, President of Clifton Traders Alliance; and Javed Shamsh, President of Karachi Traders Association Sindh, among others.
The agenda focused on the pressing issues confronting the trading community, including recent strikes announced by various chambers of commerce. Following robust discussions, the participants reached a consensus to engage directly with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce. The aim is to clarify the motives behind the strikes and to understand their specific demands.
In a strategic move, the attendees declared that a nationwide meeting of the All Pakistan Traders Association would be convened on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. This significant gathering will take place at the office of the President of the All Pakistan Mobile and Electric Dealers Association, where leading trader representatives from all provinces will converge to formulate a coordinated response.
Additionally, the trader leaders emphasized the importance of transparency, announcing that the final stance on the upcoming strike scheduled for July 19, 2025, would be communicated to the media through a press conference.
“We are united in our commitment to protect our rights as traders,” expressed Ismail Lalaporia, spokesperson for the All-Pakistan Traders Association. “Our voice will be peaceful but powerful as we stand against any injustice or unfair policy.”
As the trading community gears up for these critical discussions, it is clear that the unity and determination of the traders will play a pivotal role in shaping the future landscape of commerce in Pakistan.
