Karachi: A significant promotion ceremony for police officers took place at the Chief Minister's House, presided over by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The event saw the awarding of ranks to officers promoted to BPS 20 and 21, according to a spokesperson for the Chief Minister.
The ceremony was graced by key officials, including Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjhar, Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, Secretary Home Iqbal Memon, and Secretary to the Chief Minister Raheem Sheikh, along with Additional IGP Karachi Javed Alam Odho. Family members of the promoted officers were also in attendance, highlighting the significance of this milestone in the officers' careers.
Among those designated to Grade 21 were Zulfikar Larak, Sharjeel Kharal, Azad Khan, and Iqbal Dara, each awarded the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police. In the DIG category, Junaid Sheikh, Imran Shaukat, Abbas Rizvi, Shiraz Nazir, Shaukat Khetran, and Shad Ibn Maseeh were elevated to Grade 20.
The ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of these officers but also underscored the vital role of law enforcement in maintaining peace and order in the province. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of dedication and hard work in serving the community, urging the newly promoted officers to continue striving for excellence in their duties.
