KARACHI: The South Zone Police took a vital step in the fight against drug abuse by organizing an awareness walk near the DHA Marina Club. Led by DIG South Zone Syed Asad Raza, the event aimed to raise public awareness about the dangers of drug use and to promote a unified stance against this pressing issue.

The walk saw participation from various dignitaries, including the Consuls General of Italy and Sri Lanka, as well as prominent journalists, healthcare professionals, civil society representatives, concerned citizens, police officers, and officials.
This diverse turnout demonstrated a collective commitment to addressing the drug problem within the community.

Participants carried banners and displayed playing cards with powerful anti-drug messages, emphasizing the urgent need for societal action. DIG Syed Asad Raza addressed the crowd, highlighting that while police operations are crucial in combating drug trafficking, real progress lies in public awareness and the community's united resistance against drugs. He noted the cyclical nature of drug dealing and use, stating, "When a drug dealer is caught, many newcomers come to take their place. To break this cycle, it is vital for society to unite against drugs."

The awareness walk served as a poignant reminder of the community's role in tackling drug abuse and fostered a spirit of solidarity among all participants in the pursuit of a drug-free society.
