Karachi, July 25: Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, inaugurated the “Time Travel Theater” at Dino Safari Park as part of efforts to promote recreational and educational activities in the city. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Parliamentary Leader of the City Council, Dil Muhammad, PPP East District President Iqbal Sand, Juman Darwan, elected representatives, and other dignitaries.

During the event, Mayor Wahab highlighted that this unique project offers an interactive and educational environment for families, children, and youth. He described the spectacular opening of the Time Travel Theater as a new milestone in family entertainment, providing citizens with a chance to enjoy a special preview performance. The initiative aims to foster imagination, learning, and joy for the next generation.
He emphasized that the theater is a valuable addition to Karachi’s recreational and cultural landscape and will encourage young people to engage in creative thinking. The establishment of the Time Travel Theater in Safari Park is a positive step, providing quality entertainment while raising awareness among children about the environment, animals, and nature.
Mayor Wahab acknowledged the significant role played by the private sector in this initiative, which notably supported the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in its execution. “No society can progress without open spaces and opportunities for recreation, laughter, and joy for everyone,” he stated. “While the wealthy have the means to enjoy various experiences, it is essential to provide joy, knowledge, and peace to middle and lower-income groups.”
He expressed his satisfaction with the theater's storytelling and scripts, which aim to educate children about environmental protection, compassion for animals, and love for nature. “If we instill these values in children between the ages of three and five, they will grow up to be better citizens,” he said.
Mayor Wahab shared his vision for a cheerful and peaceful Karachi, reminiscent of the city his elders described. “Though I did not experience that Karachi in my childhood, I hope our children will see a city filled with tolerance, harmony, and peace,” he remarked.
He stressed that while the government has a role to play, true success can only be achieved with public involvement. “Karachi represents mini-Pakistan. If we collaborate, the city will flourish, along with the province and the country,” he added.
The Mayor urged citizens to support the administration in making such positive initiatives successful. “Let us unite in our commitment to making Karachi a prosperous, peaceful, and developed city,” he urged.
Mayor Wahab also recognized that while the government continues its efforts, public participation is essential for ensuring success. He noted, “Some individuals may be unhappy with the revival of healthy activities in Karachi’s parks, but we are dedicated to providing positive recreational opportunities for the people.”
He announced that more sports activities will soon be introduced in the city’s parks, enabling youth to spend time in a healthy environment. “Those who previously exploited Karachi’s lands through illegal encroachments and commercialized parks now criticize us. However, we are here to build the city, not to loot it,” he stated.
Additionally, he informed attendees that First Lady Asifa Bhutto recently visited hospitals in Azam Basti and Korangi, where free medical services are being provided. “She reviewed the facilities and appreciated the arrangements,” he added, emphasizing the government's responsibility to deliver quality healthcare to the poor and middle class.
Finally, Mayor Wahab mentioned that the Chief Minister of Sindh will soon inaugurate the SICH Center in Jamshoro, which will further enhance healthcare services in the province.
