Karachi: In a vibrant display of patriotism, a ceremony commemorating Independence Day was held at the Tariq Saeed Auditorium, organized by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in collaboration with Her Empire World. The event featured esteemed guests from various sectors, with Javed Zaman Khan, Convener of FPCCI’s Culture Development Committee, serving as the chief guest.
The gathering included notable figures such as Saima Ahmed, Lubna Mudassir, Haji Liaquat Sheikh, and celebrated singer Jamal Akbar, along with numerous political and social leaders, members of the legal community, and civil society representatives.
Addressing the attendees, Javed Zaman highlighted the profound significance of this year’s Independence Day, especially in light of recent events that he described as a decisive battle for truth. He lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for their efforts, claiming they have greatly bolstered the nation’s happiness by delivering a significant setback to India. Zaman reflected on Pakistan's substantial advancements over the past 78 years, urging unity among citizens to overcome ongoing challenges. He reiterated the commitment of the business and industrial community to the country’s progress.
Echoing this sentiment, Haji Liaquat Sheikh reminded those present of the sacrifices made by countless heroes for the nation’s freedom. Sheikh honored the bravery of these individuals and reaffirmed that the entire nation stands resilient alongside its armed forces.
Saima Ahmed and Lubna Mudassir took the opportunity to celebrate the critical contributions of women in the struggle for independence. Citing Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah’s unwavering support for her brother, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, they expressed hope for Pakistan to achieve significant milestones of progress, inspired by the courage and tenacity of women throughout the country’s history.
The ceremony saw engaging presentations, including a performance by singer Jamal Akbar, who captivated the audience with a heartfelt national song. The event concluded on a celebratory note with the cutting of a grand 50-pound cake, symbolizing national unity and pride.
This gathering was a poignant reminder of Pakistan's enduring spirit and the collective aspirations of its people for a bright and prosperous future.
