Karachi: Mayor of Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, along with Federal Minister Musadik Malik, visited the TP-3 project site, where officials from the Water Corporation provided a detailed briefing on the current status of the project. During their visit, they also inspected the site together.
Mayor Wahab mentioned that once the project is completed, treated sewage water will be supplied to industries, helping to alleviate challenges faced by the industrial sector. He emphasized that the treated water discharged into the sea would not harm marine life. Currently, 35 million gallons of water are being treated daily and discharged into the sea, contributing to the reduction of marine pollution. Wahab stated that this project will not only improve the environment but also offer industries a cost-effective and sustainable resource. also present at the occasion was Asadullah Khan, Chief Operating Officer of the Water Corporation, along with other officials.
Federal Minister Musadik Malik expressed his intention to engage with the federal government and the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) regarding the TP-3 and TP-5 projects to expedite their completion. He assured that the federal government would provide every possible support for eco-friendly and public-benefit initiatives.
Minister Malik stressed that the federation would extend full cooperation to Karachi at all levels, emphasizing the importance of projects that directly benefit the population and the city. He added that KPT would be involved in these projects to enhance improvement and cooperation.
Musadik Malik underscored the necessity for international-standard projects in Karachi to ensure the city’s development and to provide citizens with modern facilities. He reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to support local and provincial institutions in addressing the challenges faced by Karachi.
