Karachi: The Naveena Steel National Junior Padel Championship 2025 officially commenced today at Maidan, Karachi, showcasing 86 talented young athletes from across Pakistan. The competitors are engaged in intense matches across three age categories: Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18. This prestigious championship is organized by the Pakistan Padel Federation (PPF) in collaboration with Maidan and the Sindh Padel Federation.
The opening ceremony took place at the KMC Sports Complex, attended by notable figures including PPF CEO Mudassar Arain, Maidan owner Mr. Usman, and PPF President Mr. Muhammad Mateen, who served as the chief guest.
During his speech, Mudassar Arain highlighted that the championship is held under the auspices of Padel Asia and the International Padel Federation, strictly adhering to international standards and regulations. He underscored the importance of this championship in elevating junior-level padel in Pakistan.
In a significant announcement, President Muhammad Mateen revealed that this championship will serve as a qualifying event for the upcoming World Junior Padel Cup, scheduled to be held in Spain. Top performers from each age category will have the opportunity to represent Pakistan on the international stage.
In a poignant tribute to national pride, players and officials honored the heroes of Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos and celebrated the spirit of independence by proudly displaying the green and white flags of Pakistan during the ceremony.
Matches are being conducted at various courts within KMC Maidan, with the finals set for Sunday, August 4, 2025.
- Sindh Shaheen achieved wins over Sindh Arsalan and Sindh Smash Bros,
with scores of 6-0 and 6-1, respectively.
- Sindh Zaza triumphed over Sindh Vikings 6-4.
As the championship progresses, spectators can look forward to thrilling matches and the emergence of promising young talent in the world of padel.
