Pakistan Writers Guild Sindh announces the restart of "Hum Qalam" magazine in Sindh

Karachi: The Pakistan Writers Guild, renowned as the oldest and most esteemed literary platform for writers, poets, and creators in the country, convened an important meeting of its Executive Committee in Karachi. This gathering underscored the Guild's continued dedication to promoting literature, safeguarding authors' rights, and nurturing the creative spirit within society.

The meeting, led by Honorary Secretary Mr. Ahmed Umar Sharif, commenced with reciting the Holy Qur’an and a Naat by Qari Waqar Ahmed. The Guild’s Secretary later nominated distinguished writer Mr. Ismat Ali Khatri to chair the session, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the organization.


During this crucial assembly, the committee ratified the previous meeting's minutes and engaged in extensive discussions regarding future initiatives. Key topics included launching new membership drives, expanding literary activities, and creating platforms for emerging writers. Executive Committee members Mr. Nasir Shamsi, Mr. Nadeem Zafar Siddiqui, Ms. Ghazala Khalid, Dr. Masroor Pirzado, and Ms. Shahida Kanwal contributed insightful suggestions aimed at revitalizing the Guild's operations.
Notably, some members, including Mr. Zaib Azkar Hussain and Mr. Kashif Hussain, were unable to attend in full due to the observance of Muharram and other engagements, while Mr. Zafar Moin Bulleh had to travel to Islamabad for urgent medical care.

A consensus emerged among participants on the need for a comprehensive strategy to enhance the Guild’s activity and effectiveness in Sindh, spotlighting fundraising efforts as a pivotal focus. Future endeavors will encompass organizing high-profile literary events, reviving publishing projects for local authors, awarding literary works, and hosting workshops aimed at fostering research and literary pursuits.

In conclusion, the meeting reaffirmed the Guild's commitment to upholding the dignity of literature and its creators. As reiterated by committee members, the Pakistan Writers Guild aims to ensure that the power of the pen continues to illuminate paths of knowledge, peace, and justice across society.
