Chehlum Security Briefing: DIG South Asad Raza Chairs Preparations in Karachi

  Karachi: Deputy Inspector General South, Asad Raza, convened a crucial high-level meeting to review security arrangements for the upcoming Chehlum Imam Hussain (R.A.) processions and majalis. The meeting brought together senior police officials from the Southern region, representatives from the Pakistan Rangers, district and civil administration, scholars from the Shia community, procession permit holders, and Scouts organization leaders. 

During the discussions, attendees focused on identifying potential security challenges that may arise during the Chehlum processions and explored strategies to ensure effective and foolproof security measures. DIG South Asad Raza underscored the importance of enhanced coordination and effective communication among all stakeholders to assure the safety of participants. 

“Robust security for the Chehlum processions and majalis is our top priority. Hard security measures will be implemented similarly to those deployed during Ashura,” stated the DIG, affirming the commitment to protecting the sanctity of the events. 

A 24/7 control room will be established at the DIG office to further enhance monitoring, allowing for continuous oversight of all majalis and processions. The DIG emphasized a strict policy of zero tolerance towards any lapses or negligence concerning security arrangements, assuring the community of their safety during this significant observance.
