Karachi: The Naveena Steel Junior Padel Championship, organized by the Pakistan Padel Federation in collaboration with the International Padel Federation, Padel Asia, Sindh Padel, and Maidan Pakistan, came to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, showcasing a remarkable display of young talent in three highly competitive finals.
In the U14 category final, the young guns of Sindh 1 Allawala proved their prowess by outshining Sindh Shaheen with an impressive 2-0 victory. Their teamwork and composure were evident throughout the match, as they coordinated flawlessly to secure the win.
The U16 final saw Sindh 2 NAMX claim victory over Sindh 6, also with a decisive 2-0 score. From the very start, Sindh 2 NAMX demonstrated dominance and control, leaving no doubt about their superiority in the contest.
However, the most anticipated match of the championship was the U18 final, where the atmosphere at Maidan was electrifying. A gripping contest unfolded between Sindh TTF and Sindh Team Legends, capturing the attention of an enthusiastic crowd. With both teams winning one game each, the match stood at a nail-biting 1-1, leading to a dramatic final set. Ultimately, Sindh Team Legends emerged victorious, claiming the U18 Champion title in an exhilarating finish. This victory serves as a significant boost for these young athletes, as the national team for the upcoming Junior World Cup in Spain will be selected from these standout performers.
The closing ceremony featured several distinguished guests, including Sheikh Shakeel Ilyas as the Chief Guest, along with Ahmed Ali Rajput (Secretary, Sindh Olympic Association), Muhammad Mateen (President, Pakistan Padel Federation), Mudassir Arain (CEO, Pakistan Padel Federation), Rehan Uddin (Director Rules), and other representatives from Naveena Steel.
The championship concluded with a vibrant and celebratory prize distribution ceremony, where substantial cash prizes, along with special gifts and hampers, were awarded to outstanding players and officials, totaling PKR 300,000.
During his speech at the occasion, CEO Mudassir Arain expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors and partners whose support contributed to the event's success. He announced that the Pakistan Padel Federation (PPF) will continue to organize similar tournaments across the country, offering greater opportunities for young boys and girls to showcase their talent in Padel.
