Karachi: Khudi Foundation, in collaboration with PLUS, Sparks Business Club, and Mariam Faisam Amin (MFA), organized a meaningful session titled “Breaking Cycles of Violence: Empowering Non-Violent Resistance for Mental Wellbeing” at its DHA Phase 7 headquarters.
The event gathered legal experts, wellness trainers, social entrepreneurs, and survivors to discuss gender-based violence (GBV), non-violent resistance, and ways to promote mental health and resilience among survivors.
The session opened with a Quran recitation and the National Anthem, followed by welcome remarks. Key speakers included: - Ms. Salma Habib Bhutto, Program Manager, PLUS, on legal protections for women - Ms. Sarwat Nasim Shah, Managing Director, Zaamin Group, on breaking violence cycles through non-violent means - Ms. Syeda Raafia Hasan, Founder of Sparks Business Club, addressing GBV in digital spaces - Mr. Altaf Hussain Khoso, CEO, PLUS, outlining justice avenues for GBV survivors - Ms. Mariam Faisal Amin, wellness trainer, speaking on resilience via gratitude and smiling - Ahmer Iqbal, an acid attack survivor, shared his powerful story of hope and strength
The event ended with an interactive Q&A session, followed by refreshments and networking.
Khudi Foundation highlighted that ending violence cycles requires joint efforts from legal, social, and wellness sectors alongside strong community support to empower survivors and build a safer future.
