Karachi: The recent protest by doctors at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, sparked by issues surrounding delayed salary payments, has officially concluded. In a video statement, Hospital Director Dr. Faisal Samdani announced that all doctors have now received their wages for the current month, alleviating concerns that had led to the protest.
Dr. Samdani detailed that 36 postgraduate trainees, who are currently undergoing a four-year training program, received their salaries on August 22. Newly appointed doctors were compensated on September 1, while the salaries for 32 additional staff members, identified as having incomplete records, will be processed shortly.
In his statement, the director assured that outstanding salaries for the previous three months are expected to be resolved by September 10. However, he also noted that many doctors have failed to report for duty or complete their biometric registration, cautioning that stringent action will be taken against those individuals.
The hospital aims to restore normal operations and ensure all staff members are adequately supported following the resolution of these financial concerns.
