IG Sindh Reviews Reorganization of the Investigation Department

Karachi: A comprehensive review meeting on the ongoing reorganization of the Investigation Department was conducted under the leadership of IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon. The meeting saw participation from Additional IGs and DIGs representing various regions, including Karachi, Operations, Headquarters, Crime & Investigation, South, East, and IT.


During the meeting, DIGs from the South and East ranges were briefed about the establishment and role of Central Investigation Centers (CICs). A total of nine CICs are being established in the South range, along with seven in the East range. The documentation necessary for these centers is nearing completion, with buildings and office spaces already allocated.

The successes of the CIC in Liaquatabad were shared by the DIG Crime & Investigation, showcasing the positive impact of the initiative. IG Sindh emphasized the need for the timely completion of all necessary documentation, urging that the judiciary and relevant stakeholders be kept informed about the objectives and procedures of the CICs. Additionally, he instructed that the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for the CICs be prepared by the Additional IGs.

An emphasis was placed on assigning investigation officers duties based on their experience and skill sets to enhance the quality of investigations.

This initiative is seen as a significant step towards strengthening the investigation system and facilitating judicial processes within the region.
