By: Aziz Khatri

Karachi: Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab made a significant visit to the under-construction Jam Sadiq Bridge in Korangi, where he gathered insights from the project director and transport department officials. During his visit, the mayor shared promising news for the Korangi residents, revealing that a state-of-the-art 1.5-kilometer-long, eight-lane bridge is set to be completed within just five months. Notably, this bridge will feature two dedicated lanes for buses and six lanes for general traffic, alongside special tracks designed for pedestrians and cyclists.

Mayor Wahab emphasized that this ambitious project reflects the leadership decisions of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and is expected to be finalized this week, in conjunction with the restoration of the old bridge. He highlighted the ongoing commitment to development in Karachi, stating, "Every day starts with new development projects,” and reassured that promises made by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are being fulfilled.

In addition to the bridge, the mayor assessed ongoing development activities in Bhangoriya Goth, Azizabad, where he announced groundbreaking initiatives to tackle long-standing sewage issues. For the first time in 50 years, the city government has commenced projects to lay 175,000 square feet of pure blocks and is also undertaking 100,000 square feet of asphalt carpeting. Mayor Wahab attributed these advancements to the relentless efforts of the Pakistan Peoples Party and declared that development is moving forward even in areas that have historically been neglected.

The mayor’s proactive approach and determination to enhance infrastructure in Karachi signal a new era of urban development in the city, reassuring citizens of ongoing improvements in their localities. "more headlines"
