Karachi: In a groundbreaking event for the country’s tech landscape, Pro AI Global, renowned as Pakistan’s first global AI community, launched the Pro AI Women Council and hosted the inaugural Women in AI Meetup. The event experienced an overwhelming turnout, with over 100 women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, housewives, and innovators gathering to share ideas and forge pathways in the realm of Artificial Intelligence.
Ammara Aftab, the Founder of Pro AI Global, emphasized the council’s mission during her address. "Our vision goes beyond providing opportunities for women in AI. It is about creating a generation that is AI-ready. As women are often the first teachers of future leaders, empowering them with AI knowledge ensures a stronger, brighter future for Pakistan," she stated.
Sarwat Nasim Shah, an Advisory Board Member of Pro AI Global, described the initiative as a landmark achievement. “Through the Women in AI Council, we will not only provide access to advanced technology and knowledge but also open doors for leadership opportunities at both national and international levels," she remarked.
The launch aligns with Pakistan's National AI Policy, the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting Pro AI Global’s dedication to fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and ethical AI practices.
Pro AI Global extended gratitude to its founding members and male supporters, recognizing figures such as Omer Khan, Azam Mughal, Faraz, Faizan Abbas, Tahseen Islam, Furqan, Syed Azmat, and Wasiq, whose support has been pivotal in realizing this vision.
This historic milestone marks the inception of a women-led AI movement in Pakistan, with plans for future initiatives including Pro AI Women Connect sessions, an AI leadership exchange program, and the country’s first Women in AI Conference. The Pro AI Women Council promises to pave the way for a vibrant and inclusive future in technology for women across Pakistan.
