Saudi Consul General Hosts 95th National Day Ceremony in Karachi

KARACHI: On Monday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah joined dignitaries and diplomats in Karachi to celebrate the 95th National Day of Saudi Arabia, highlighting the lasting ties between the two countries. The event, hosted by Saudi Consul General Muhammad Abdullah Saeed Al-Subaiey at a local hotel, attracted a distinguished audience that included senior civil and military officials, foreign envoys, and community leaders. The diverse representation from Gulf countries underscored the significance of the occasion, which featured formal addresses and ceremonial gestures.

Notable attendees included Karachi Corps Commander Lt Gen Owais Dastgir, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy’s KOMKAR, UAE Consul General Bakhit Ateek Al-Rumaithi, Omani Consul General Abdul Samii Al-Khanjari, Bahraini Consul General Abdullah Ahmed, and Qatari Consul General Nayef Shaheen R.M. Al-Sulaiti.

In his remarks, Chief Minister Shah characterized Pakistan’s relationship with Saudi Arabia as unique, citing the 1951 bilateral agreement as the foundation of this enduring partnership. He emphasized the recently signed defense pact, calling it a milestone in efforts to safeguard the Muslim ummah, and expressed confidence that cooperation between the two nations would continue to grow in the years ahead.

The event, characterized by diplomatic warmth and high-level representation, served as a reminder of Saudi Arabia's central role in Pakistan’s foreign relations and provided a platform to reaffirm their shared political, cultural, and strategic bonds.
