Karachi: Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Javed Alam Odho visited the Shri Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple in Clifton to mark the Hindu community's Diwali celebrations, emphasizing enhanced security measures for the festival of lights.
Accompanied by SSP South and other police officers, AIG Odho conducted a thorough review of security arrangements for Diwali events across the city. The visit underscores ongoing efforts to protect religious minorities amid vibrant celebrations in Karachi, including at historic sites like the Swaminarayan Temple.
During his meeting with temple priests Pandit Ravi Ramesh and Madan Lal, AIG Odho discussed comprehensive security protocols. The temple administration expressed satisfaction with the police's proactive steps and thanked the AIG for his personal oversight, highlighting the strong interfaith harmony in Pakistan.
Karachi police, as custodians of public safety, are deploying all available resources to ensure the protection of lives, property, and the rule of law during this joyous occasion. Diwali greetings from national leaders, including President Zardari and PM Sharif, further reinforce the nation's commitment to unity and tolerance, with a public holiday declared for the community.
