Noorul Huda Shah, the Joint Secretary of the Arts Council, voiced his joy at the celebration of artistic contributions, stating, “Art and culture are the essence and pride of Sindh. I congratulate the Arts Council for this wonderful initiative.”
Artist Noorjehan Bilgrami extolled Mirza's artistry, remarking, “Her art speaks for itself — it defines who she is.” Mehr Afroze echoed this sentiment, saying, “When you stand before Musarrat’s paintings, you don’t want to move away. Her work radiates energy born of love, coming from a deep dive into her creations.”
Dr. Marhab Qasmi expressed his pride in possessing some of Mirza's works, stating, “Her art reflects the essence of Sukkur — a city she profoundly loves. Her paintings truly speak.”
From afar, renowned artist Salima Hashmi, who joined via video link, praised Mirza as a significant figure in contemporary art. “Her paintings are quiet yet profound — they speak in their own language,” she shared, underscoring Mirza's unique artistic voice.
In a moving conclusion, Musarrat Mirza expressed her humility and gratitude during the ceremony. “Being an artist is no big achievement; those we call artists are simply humble souls,” she said. “Creation belongs only to the Divine; we humans are mere instruments of expression. I am just an ordinary person, constantly seeking my destination through art.”
Amra Ali, curator and critic, added, “Musarrat Mirza’s art encompasses countless dimensions; it is a reflection of deep thought and emotion drawn from the soil, land, and Sufi poetry.”
The ceremony concluded with a resonant appreciation for Mirza’s legacy and the ongoing impact of her work within the art community.
