Karachi: Setting a new standard of compassion in the history of Sindh Police, Korangi Police Station has performed a feat that will be remembered in the history of Pakistan. For the first time, officers went beyond the duty of hosting and repatriating more than two dozen stranded Bangladeshi nationals and turned a story of betrayal into one of hope and brotherhood.
Details show that more than 24 Bangladeshi nationals were detained during a routine check last month. After an inquiry by the police and intelligence agencies, it emerged that all of them were duped by fraudulent agents who left them without any help, leaving them vulnerable and unprotected on foreign soil.
In this hour of need, a picture of Zaman Town Police Station, incharge of Mahal Chowki, ASI Malik Ameer Abdullah, stepped up bravely. He personally took charge of 26 Bangladeshi “brothers”, sheltered the, and looked after them for 45 days. Through coordination with the Bangladesh Embassy, he resolved their cases and ensured their dignified repatriation on 23 September 2025.
In my opinion and analysis, there is no such example in the whole of Pakistan where a check post in-charge has taken 26 people as his personal guests and fulfilled their every legitimate need, from daily food and medical assistance to fulfilling all reasonable requests as a sacred duty.
The exemplary hospitality of ASI Malik Ameer Abdullah is a source of pride for the entire police department and all Pakistanis. He has truly raised the head of the police force and the nation with dignity.
Before bidding farewell to the guests, a small ceremony was held at the Tikkur Mahal check post, which was organized by ASI Malik Ameer Abdullah and was attended by senior officers and representatives of other agencies. If more officers and men emulate the sense of duty of ASI Malik Ameer Abdullah, fraud and crime can be eradicated from Pakistan. This heartwarming story highlights the human side of policing, which creates positive change in community relations.
