Malta: A high-level delegation from the International Police Organization (IPO) Pakistan, led by President DIG Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, attended the 4th International IPO Congress held in Malta. The congress brought together senior law enforcement officers, IPO section heads, and international experts from around the world to discuss emerging global security challenges.
The event opened with a welcome speech by IPO’s Honorary President, Dr. Elija Zivotik, who emphasized the importance of international cooperation in effectively combating cross-border crimes and promoting professional development within police forces.
Experts highlighted key topics, including policing from a first responder perspective, the effective use of virtual reality in policing and criminal justice, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, immigration trends, psychological profiling, and the use of algorithms to understand human behavior.
In his address, IPO Pakistan President DIG Security Dr. Maqsood Ahmed spoke about evolving law enforcement demands in developing countries, emphasizing modern investigative techniques, institutional coordination, and training to tackle organized crime, cybercrime, and terrorism. He shared Pakistan’s experiences in fighting terrorism and terror financing and underscored the need for global cooperation to dismantle financial networks supporting such threats.
IPO is a multinational, non-profit, and non-governmental organization with special consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2022.
