Sindh Chief Secretary Reviews Mega World Culture Festival Preparations

  Karachi: Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Haider Shah chaired a high-level meeting to ensure seamless arrangements for the World Culture Festival Karachi 2025, hailing it as a proud showcase of Pakistan's peaceful image and cultural diplomacy on the global stage.

Hosted by the Arts Council of Pakistan from October 30 to December 7 at its Karachi venue, the six-week extravaganza will feature over 1,000 artists from more than 141 countries across America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, blending music, dance, theatre, visual arts, and literature to celebrate Sindh's heritage and foster international harmony.

Shah emphasized the event's role in boosting tourism and cross-cultural ties, directing departments to prioritize security, traffic, sanitation, power, and health services. "This festival reflects our commitment to peace, tolerance, and artistic exchange," he said, instructing Additional IGP Javed Alam Odho for foolproof security, KMC for city beautification and road repairs, and K-Electric for uninterrupted supply.

Key attendees included Secretary Home Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah, and Rangers representatives. Briefings covered traffic plans with alternate routes, dedicated parking, and special committees under the Commissioner and AIG for real-time coordination. A welcome desk at Karachi Airport will greet international guests.

Health, Fire Brigade, and Rescue 1122 teams are on high alert. Arts Council President Shah praised the Sindh government's support, noting last year's collaboration was key to success. Shah reaffirmed the province's dedication to making the festival a beacon of unity, drawing global eyes to Pakistan's vibrant diversity.
