Karachi: In a vibrant continuation of the ongoing World Culture Festival 2025, the seventh day saw art and culture take center stage as the SOVAPA Alumni showcased their exhibition "Piece & Pieces Volume 2" at the esteemed Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery. The event was inaugurated by renowned intellectual and humorist Anwar Maqsood, Sindh Minister for Culture Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, and Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmad Shah.
The exhibition drew art lovers, students, and cultural figures from both Pakistan and beyond, celebrating a fusion of art, music, theatre, and workshops. Among those in attendance were prominent artists like Shahid Rassam, Farrukh Shahab, and Muhammad Zeeshan, further enhancing the artistic atmosphere of the day.
Anwar Maqsood addressed the attendees, emphasizing the unique emotional narrative each piece of art conveys. "Those who can understand the harmony of lines and colors are the real artists," he remarked, expressing gratitude for the institution that nurtures talent. He added, "Every painting tells its own story; it’s not philosophy, it’s art. Hard work never goes unrewarded."
President Muhammad Ahmad Shah expressed pride in the alumni, noting their representation of Pakistan on the global stage. "Their art, vision, and approach to life have evolved remarkably," he stated. "This festival, the largest in history, showcases the dedication of our team and artists who have come from countries like the USA, Japan, and Belgium, funding their own participation. We are committed to creating a people-owned model that transcends government and institutional boundaries."
Minister Shah further praised the World Culture Festival for promoting a positive image of Pakistan. "The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi is playing a vital role in promoting art and culture, and Muhammad Ahmad Shah’s contributions are truly commendable."
As the World Culture Festival continues to unfold, it promises to be a landmark event that not only enhances cultural dialogue but also showcases the rich artistic heritage of Pakistan on the international stage.
