Children's Poster Contest Sparks Awareness on Burns Prevention

  Karachi: The Friends of Burns Centre (FOBC) teamed up with ZVMG Rangoonwala Trust for the Children's Poster Contest & Exhibition 2025 at Rangoonwala Community Centre. Kids from local schools showcased posters spotlighting "Prevention of Burns Injuries," stressing awareness and safety education.


Living legend and writer-artist Anwar Maqsood opened the exhibit as chief guest, lauding the young creators' bold works. "Children's art is the purest expression," he said, calling it key to spreading vital messages.

Actor Behroze Sabzwari lit up the prize ceremony, handing out awards and injecting fun into the event.

FOBC Acting President Fawad Ateeq Barry renewed the group's pledge for free burn care and community prevention drives. He noted how such gatherings educate families and schools on avoiding tragedies.

Judges Mona Naqsh, Shahid Rassam, and Malika Rangoonwala hailed the entries' fresh ideas and spark. Winners:

2nd: Iqrah Abdul Bari (V.M. Public School)  

3rd: Eshaal Asad (Happy Home School System, Johar Campus)  

Senior Category:  

1st: Shahryar Fazil (British International School)  

2nd: Ayesha Wahab (Happy Home School, Gulshan Campus)  

3rd: Anaya Numair (Happy Home School, OLS Campus)  

Co-founder M. Abdullah Feroz closed with thanks to guests, students, and teachers for a smashing success. FOBC's work at Dr. Ruth K.M. Pfau Civil Hospital keeps saving lives while pushing prevention.
