Karachi, November 22 – After a gap of 12 years, a grand closing ceremony was held at the Police Headquarters Garden South to conclude the Sindh Police Games 2025. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar was the chief guest and was welcomed by a decorated contingent of police.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by prayers and Fateha for the martyrs of Sindh Police at their memorial. The participants included IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, range officers, and other dignitaries.
In his address, Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar expressed happiness over the revival of the games and vowed to hold the annual events in the future. He praised the enthusiasm of the 217 female participants and the sportsmanship of all the players and announced that Karachi Range came first, SSU came second, and Telecom Police came third.
“Promotion of sports is of key importance for the police – the summary of recruitment for sports quota under the one-window system is coming soon,” he said. He credited the Sindh IG and the Sports Board Chairman for the success, adding that these games create teamwork, discipline, and leadership change to effectively combat crime.

He urged IG Memon to introduce “a fundamental” incentive for high performers, emphasizing the physical, mental, and moral strength gained from sports.
Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar said, “Sports strengthen the body and mind, which are essential for the challenges of policing, so these competitions should continue every year.”
Describing the games as an annual event, IG Memon highlighted Sindh Police as the oldest force in the region, which is now modern. "Investigation and anti-crime operations are improving; our commitment, which was seen in Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, and Mirpurkhas, extends to sports."
The ceremony concluded with medals and shields for the winners, capped by spectacular fireworks that lit up the night sky.
