Karachi: The ongoing “World Culture Festival 2025” at the Arts Council of Pakistan celebrated its 30th day with a rich tapestry of artistic expression that connected cultures through music, dance, and discussion.

The day featured a captivating documentary presentation titled “A Soulful Dance Journey” by Mali’s renowned dancer and choreographer, Lassina Koné. Throughout the presentation, Koné blended tradition and emotion, emphasizing the profound connection between dance and the human spirit. He praised the festival’s mission, highlighting the vital role of choreographers in the artistic process and urging the Arts Council’s team to promote their commitment to art and culture on a global scale.

The festival also hosted an engaging open-mic discussion session featuring international artists from Oman, South Africa, Norway, and the United States, who came together to discuss pressing global themes. Notably, speakers underscored the stark reality that only 44 countries worldwide remain conflict-free, recognizing the festival as a platform to share their art and learn from one another. “We have much to say and much to offer, which is why we are all here,” they emphasized.

In appreciation of the festival's impact, Mani Chao, head of the Dance Academy, expressed his gratitude to the Arts Council and President Ahmed Shah, noting that the festival had invigorated students eager to perform alongside international talents. Musician Ahsan Bari reflected on the transformative power of self-reflection through art, adding to the day’s inspirational atmosphere.

A highly anticipated dance workshop conducted by acclaimed Norwegian dancer Navid Rezvani allowed students to explore various techniques. “Dance is life. In hip-hop, you must give your energy,” Rezvani stated, celebrating the immense talent of the Arts Council students and the deep meanings of joy, independence, and freedom inherent in dance.

The film screening of Sarmad Khoosat’s critically acclaimed “Kamli” was another highlight of the day. In a discussion panel following the screening, Khoosat, alongside Dr. Umair Ahmed, reflected on the film’s success and the potential resurgence of cinema culture in Pakistan. "Art connects us, and the World Culture Festival is a wonderful example of this,” Khoosat shared, expressing his hope for the future of the arts in the country.

The day concluded on a high note with the Mega Musical Concert 3.0, featuring electrifying performances by Faris Shafi, Meesha Shafi, Azerbaijan’s Sahib Pashazade, Darabu, and Pakistan’s rising star Gizri. The Jaun Elia Lawn overflowed with energy as the audience danced enthusiastically to the powerful performances, marking a fitting celebration of the diverse cultures represented at the festival.

As the World Culture Festival continues, it reaffirms the unifying power of art and culture, offering hope, light, and a platform for creative expression across borders.
