ESUP Hosts Lebanese Ambassador to Strengthen Lebanon–Pakistan Ties

 Karachi: The English Speaking Union of Pakistan (ESUP) hosted His Excellency Abdul Aziz Issa, Ambassador of Lebanon to Pakistan, as a distinguished guest speaker at a special event, reaffirming the strong and cordial relations between Lebanon and Pakistan and exploring avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation.

During his address, Ambassador Issa shared insights into Lebanon’s rich cultural heritage, historical background, and current developments. He underscored the importance of people-to-people connections in strengthening relations between nations and expressed optimism about expanding cooperation between Lebanon and Pakistan in key areas including education, culture, trade, and tourism.

The event was attended by ESUP members, academics, and notable dignitaries, and served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas. In an interactive question-and-answer session, the Ambassador responded to queries on Lebanon’s experiences as well as regional and global perspectives, reflecting the keen interest of Pakistani scholars and professionals in Lebanon’s cultural and developmental landscape.

Patron-in-Chief Aziz Memon highlighted ESUP’s ongoing activities, including its recent participation in the Patron Dinner in London organized by the ESU Commonwealth. ESUP President Pervez Madraswala expressed gratitude to Ambassador Issa for his informative and inspiring address, stating that the session reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan.

Senior Vice President Irfan Qureshi and Secretary General Majyd Aziz also shared their views on the occasion. The event was further honored by the presence of the Honorary Consul General of Lebanon, Najeeb Baig.

ESUP reiterated its commitment to continued engagement with the Lebanese Embassy and expressed its intention to explore joint initiatives aimed at promoting cultural exchange, academic collaboration, and people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries.
