Pakistan Independent Living Center Hosts Inspiring Gathering to Advance Disability Empowerment

 Karachi: Pakistan Independent Living Center (PILC) hosted an inspiring gathering that brought together individuals committed to empowerment, inclusion and resilience. The event saw meaningful discussions on personal growth, collective strength and self-confidence from the participants.

The program was hosted by Hussain Ali and co-hosted by Sohail Bughio, Adnan Khaskhali, Syed Sohaib Ali, Augustine G. Gill and Syed Sohaib Ali who maintained an enthusiastic and cheerful atmosphere throughout the program.

Javed Raees, considered a driving force behind Pakistan’s disability movement, attended the event as the chief guest. Javed Raees, who has successfully led the PILC Center in promoting independence, dignity and self-confidence among people with disabilities, will be awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the Federal Government of Pakistan on March 23, 2026 in recognition of his services.

The gathering featured inspiring keynote addresses by South Asia’s only International Model Award winner, Marjan Mashhadi, and internationally certified yoga coach, NLP practitioner, and motivational speaker Fatima Omar. Their powerful messages of perseverance, inner strength, and self-confidence won the hearts of the audience with enthusiastic applause.

The occasion was graced by several distinguished guests including Shahzad Guru, Khurram Sohail, Muhammad Babar, Pandit Mukesh Kumar, Anjum Ghaffari, Sameen Sohaib, Moin Bin Omar, Shireesh, Fehmina Adeel, Fariha Shah, and Aziz Khatri, whose presence further added to the warmth and significance of the event.

Participants appreciated the initiative, saying that the gathering reaffirmed the importance of community support and a common purpose. Many highlighted the inspiring speakers and the welcoming atmosphere fostered by PILC as key elements of the event’s success.

The program ended on a positive and encouraging note, instilling new feelings of unity and inspiration among the participants. The PILC team and organizers were commended for their dedication and efforts in hosting a successful event, with participants expressing enthusiasm for continued collaboration in advancing empowerment and inclusion initiatives.
