Young Student Mahrose Develops the First Sindhi-Language Calculator

 Karachi: Sixteen-year-old student Mahrose Zafran Technology Wali (Level One) of Rehan School, Munawar Campus, Shaheed-e-Millat Road, has gained national and international recognition for her extraordinary abilities. With the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), she has developed the world’s first calculator based on the Sindhi alphabet, a revolutionary step toward connecting the Sindhi language with modern digital technology.

Following this achievement, Mahrose also developed the first scientific calculator in the Sindhi language, which holds great importance in fields such as computer science, medicine, and engineering. In recognition of this remarkable contribution, the World Sindhi Congress UK (London) awarded her a certificate of appreciation and congratulated her for playing a key role in integrating the Sindhi language into the digital world.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, provincial government spokesperson and former Member of the National Assembly Ali Rashid Malik visited Rehan School and met Mahrose Technology Wali. On behalf of the Sindh government, she was presented with a traditional Ajrak and a laptop. Mahrose efforts received wide coverage in national and international media. Major newspapers and news channels, including Express, Tribune International, Dawn, PTV, and Samaa News, aired exclusive interviews with her. The Urdu Point team conducted an interview at the school, while PTV World broadcast her interview live from Islamabad.

Pakistan’s largest public-sector science and technology institution, NED University of Engineering and Technology, also invited Mahrose, where she delivered a lecture on Artificial Intelligence and answered questions related to her inventions. The Consumer Association of Pakistan announced a gold medal in recognition of her achievement, which was presented by Sindh Minister Sardar Hussain Shah at a prestigious ceremony held at Karachi Gymkhana.

In addition to the Sindhi calculator, Mahrose Technology Wali has also developed clones of WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and CNN, clearly reflecting her strong technical skills. Pakistan’s largest organization of industrialists, the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized a grand ceremony at Federation House, where she was honored for her services.

Mahrose is not only a talented programmer but also an excellent public speaker. She has participated in speech competitions on various TV channels, winning several awards and cash prizes. She secured first position in an English speech competition held at the University of Karachi and also achieved first place in the PTV speech competition held on the occasion of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal this year.

These achievements of Mahrose serve as a guiding light for the younger generation and clearly demonstrate how local language and culture can be successfully connected with modern technology.
