AI-Driven World and Future of Geography Teaching Explored at Karachi Conclave

 Karachi: A professional development conclave for college geographers titled “AI-driven World and the Future of Commercial Geography Teaching: Challenges, Changes & Choices” was successfully held on January 24, 2026, at Fatimiyah College for Boys, near Numaish, Karachi. The academic event took place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The conclave brought together college geographers from across Karachi for in-person participation, while educators from other regions joined the session online. The gathering provided an important platform for teachers to discuss contemporary challenges, share practical classroom experiences, and explore innovative strategies to strengthen the teaching of Commercial Geography in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

Discussions focused on the impact of AI on geography education, evolving pedagogical approaches, and informed academic choices required to align college-level geography teaching with modern academic and professional requirements. Speakers highlighted the need to adapt curricula and teaching methodologies in response to technological advancements, emphasizing critical thinking and applied learning.

The organizers stressed the significance of such professional forums in fostering academic collaboration, updating subject knowledge, and improving teaching standards at the college level.

During the conclave, a shield of appreciation was presented to Syed Mirsyed, Principal of Fatimiyah College, in recognition of his leadership and for graciously hosting the event. The Principal also presented souvenirs to Prof. Yousuf Rahmani, Prof. Iqbal Khan, Prof. M. Nadeem, and Prof. Ayaz Raza Tirmizi in acknowledgment of their valuable contributions to the success of the academic gathering.

A brunch was arranged for the onsite participants.

The conclave concluded with a collective resolve to continue professional dialogue and cooperation aimed at the advancement of geography education at the college level.
