Sindh Police Sports Board Opens New Secretariat in Karachi

  Karachi: The Sindh Police Sports Board marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its Sports Secretariat and office at Police Headquarters, Garden, Karachi.

Chairman of the Sindh Police Sports Board, DIGP Syed Pir Muhammad Shah, formally inaugurated the newly established facility during a ceremony attended by senior officers and personnel.

Upon his arrival, SP Saeed Ahmed Arain, Deputy Secretary of the Sindh Police Sports Board, welcomed the chief guest and delivered a detailed briefing. He highlighted the board’s ongoing efforts to promote sports, fitness, and healthy recreational activities among police officials, along with future roadmaps for expanding its initiatives.

As part of measures to facilitate athletes, the Sindh Police Sports Board awarded financial support to outstanding sports performers.

International boxer Shaheer Afridi (RRF) received a cheque of Rs. 2.8 million to cover training, dietary requirements, and accommodation for participation in the upcoming World Title Eliminator contest in Bangkok.

Similarly, Azhar Jahan, an athlete from Police 15, was presented a cheque of Rs. 250,000 for winning a gold medal at the National Bodybuilding Championship held in Peshawar in February 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, DIGP Syed Pir Muhammad Shah said that sports are not only vital for physical fitness but also help enhance mental toughness, morale, and overall professional performance of police personnel. He pledged continued institutional support for athletes representing Sindh Police at national and international levels.

The event concluded with officers, guests, and staff expressing their commitment to further promoting physical activity and sports culture across the Sindh Police force.
