13-Year-Old Writer Unveils Futuristic Novel at Frere Hall

  KARACHI: The launch of A World Reborn, a science fiction novel by 13 year old author Syed Shamrez Abbas, drew an enthusiastic crowd Sunday at Frere Hall Library.


Participants include the author's grandfather, former federal minister Zia Abbas; his parents Syed Raza Abbas, Sidra Jabeen Raza; and guests include heads of educational institutions, community members DSP Sajjad Gujjar, Ayesha Arif, Irum Ara, Saira Abbasi, Rana Mazhar Hussain, Muhammad Salim Khan and Augustine G. Gill.

Shamrez, an O-Level student, described his independently written, illustrated, and designed debut as a tale of a ravaged Earth. World powers clash over the Oregon Core a mystical sphere capable of planetary restoration weaving survival, unity, hope, futuristic battles, and poignant sacrifices.

As chief guest, Zia Abbas lauded his grandson's feat, stressing books' role in societal progress. He urged more libraries, support for young writers, and resolving conflicts through dialogue, not war.

The author's parents highlighted Shamrez's passion for sci-fi, world-building, and fantasy, noting his plans to expand this fictional universe.

Guests hailed the event as a stellar start to the young writer's career.
